Car Maintenance, to be done the weekend prior to a track event:

  • Flush the brakes with ATE200 or ATE super blue
  • Check pad thickness – replace as necessary
  • Check the pad sensors
  • Check wheel bearings
  • If replacing pads, be sure they are bedded/seated properly, not dragging, etc.
  • If replacing rotors, be sure to spray the heck out of them with a break cleaner (remove oil/dirt) and take good care breaking in on the street
  • When going for a test drive, be sure to turn ASC+T (traction control) on and engage it at least once (so that the ABS reservoir gets dumped)
  • Optionally, mount the track wheels and tires if the event is a couple of days out.  This will save an hour of dicking around the night before.
